Camino Wisdom Stories

‘There is no such thing as a pure extrovert or a pure introvert. Such a man would be in the lunatic asylum.’

 - Carl Jung

The traits of introversion/extroversion (introverts prefer solitude and find energy in alone time, while extroverts seek external interactions for energy/stimulation) were introduced into psychology by the Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung.   How did you experience your Camino journey? As as an introvert, extrovert or along the scale in-between? Did you:

  • Find it easy/difficult to engage fellow pilgrims?

  • Enjoy walking with a large/small group when you really didn’t think you would?

  • Thrive or strive staying inside an albergue?

  • Changeover to walking another Camino ‘path’ because the original path was ‘missing something’ that you sought?

  • Discover you were less/more introverted/extroverted than you always thought yourself to be?

  • Return home feeling ‘different’ after having embraced more/less of your introversion/extroversion?
